French Legislative Elections June 2017

The presidential election has been decided, but France still has to vote in their legislative elections. In June France will elect all 577 members of their legislature.

Will Macron triumph again? Or will Le Pen strike back?

France's electoral system for these elections is similar to that for their presidential elections. It's a two part election, scheduled for June 11 and 18th. If a candidate in a certain district takes 50+% in the first round, they win that district. If not, candidates who received 12.5% or more proceed to a second round. Betting will therefore close the morning of June 11, with resolution on the 18th after final tallies are in.

Members are elected to the legislature from a wide variety of parties in France. In practice, though, parties work together in coalition. So, the winning bet will be the party/coalition group which receives the most seats in this election.

Abbreviations in bet choices:
CR = Centre-right coalition (led by The Republicans)
CL = Centre-left coalition (led by Socialist Party)

En Marche! is planning on running in coalition with the Democratic Movement (MoDem), a centrist party.
