In 2020 USD Tether has been minted almost as quickly as US Dollars are printed. What will be the market cap of stablecoin USD Tether on January 1, 2022?

If USDT is (still) backed by real dollars, its market cap should be almost equal to the circulating supply. In 2020 the market cap (and circulating supply) of USDT grew from about 4.1 billion USD on January 1 to over 24 billion USD nowadays. Will USDT continue to grow at this pace?
Decision Logic
The market cap on January 1, 2022 00:00 UTC will count. The holy source will be Coinmarketcap. If Tether seems to be a scam and USDT becomes worthless, market cap will be under 20 billion USD of course.
