Decision Logic

The candidate that wins 270+ Electoral College votes at the 2020 presidential election will be settled as winner. Any subsequent events will have no effect on the settlement of this market.

If no candidate wins 270+ Electoral College votes, we wait and the person chosen as President will be settled as winner.
__
If Trump or Biden are replaced as candidates for any reason before the election this proposition will be settled as a Republicans vs Democrats proposition.

@Pnmuk I think you have misunderstood the American parties. Joe Biden leads the Democratic party: a pro corporate, business, capitalistic right-of-center party that is somewhat left of the far-right Republican party. While America has one program close to socialism (the military with its housing, education and food distributed between its members) no major parties in American come close to anything like effective social programs, such as those seen in glorious Canada or Scandanavia.

@Avalon is making a wise choice. We all knew the risks when we chose to bet using a volatile currency; we are getting paid in THAT currency, not in USD. Betmoose could be subjected to legal action over premature payments; however, no court would ever entertain restitution over unrealized capital gains.

Jan. 6, 2021: The House and Senate hold a joint session to count the electoral votes. If one ticket has received 270 or more electoral votes, the president of the Senate, currently Vice President Mike Pence, announces the results.

For anyone concerned about the volatility of BTC: you can always short BTC on an exchange thus cancelling out the 'long' position you have holding it here. I know a number of exchanges offer it but I think Bitmex is the most popular one. Something to look into!

@Avalon, that’s totally not right for a lot of people. First of all, the decision logic states clearly first to 270 EC votes and no subsequent event can affect it. I was okay to postpone it a bit and be fair but by Dec 14th this has to be resolved. That would as per the bet logic decision. You also have to consider BTC volatility for the winners. BTC has hit a top and might have a solid retracement coming up... not fair for the winners to keep waiting because some are hoping for a miracle.

The host has not put in an outcome on this prop yet. It would be fair to hold these props open until the EC votes are announced Jan 6th. Hopefully everything is naturally settled by then and we will have a clear, undisputed winner.

I bet Biden here but see no reason to call it at this point. We should all be happy that BM understands the importance of "getting it right" over calling it early. Yes, it is clear Biden will win & be president come January. However, Trump has the right to make his case known & heard. Recounts, legal disputes & evidence of fraud or the lack thereof will take place over the next month. Jan. 6, 2021: The electoral votes are counted and a winner announced. I say wait til 1/6/21- We all should.

@zargothrax you are misinformed. States have not cast their votes. This doesn't take place until dec. 14th. I understand where you are coming from.. but this is not your run of the mill election and the decision logic is very clear about electoral votes being won. At this point in time, technically no canidate has any electoral votes.
