What will be the result of the 2020 United States presidential election?
Decision Logic
The candidate that wins 270+ Electoral College votes at the 2020 presidential election will be settled as winner. Any subsequent events will have no effect on the settlement of this market.

If no candidate wins 270+ Electoral College votes, we wait and the person chosen as President will be settled as winner.

If Trump or Biden are replaced as candidates for any reason before the election this proposition will be settled as a Republicans vs Democrats proposition.

Can we just take a moment to thank the retrumplicans on here for helping to delay the payout of this proposition? Many of us would have sold the bitcoin as soon as the proposition paid out and now BTC is breaching $36,200... What a lovely payday this is going to be... I like that the election in Georgia was so close... That kind of loss will sting more... LOOOOL

Neither Trump or Biden have been certified yet. Neither candidate has been certified. Therefore, we need to wait for certification. Avalon stated, "For accuracy's sake, we will wait until the EC process completes."

@sircrazywizz Admins have stated payout will send out after Jan 6/7, as this is the day when electoral votes are counted. As the terms of the bet are for whoever wins more electoral votes, there is no reason to delay the payout any more

Not the terms of the bet @gpac200, its which person gets 270+ ECVS Those are being counted... right now. If congress announces it has counted 270+ ECVs for Biden today, it will resolve today.
Trump's sad delusions and misunderstanding of the law that claims Pence can chose to do anything other than count the votes is a sad distraction. At latest we will resolve this bet in the small hours of tomorrow morning, if debate is long, but I imagine the GOP wants this embarrassment behind them ASAP

"looks like we'll be waiting much longer than January 6 and January 7" we've entertained your BS long enough - we agreed ages ago on the Jan 6th date since this bet is about ECVs and that's when they are counted. Is there actually some delay in this already very delayed inevitbaility? Or did something actually happen beyond your delusion?

I heard Pence will be presiding over debates for over 36 hours with another guy taking over during breaks. I'm seeing both sides entirely convinced of the how legal precedings will conclude tomorrow, although the only person saying Pence's role is entirely ceremonial is an ex-lawyer now journalist. Weird career move to say the least.

@Pnmuk Do you have any explanations of why the election won't be settled this week? Objections won't be sustained, Pence's role is entirely ceremonial, and literally 0 voter fraud cases have been confirmed by any courts. I'm genuinely curious on what you expect to happen, if you care to explain

Objections are only sustained if both the Senate and House of Representatives approve them. Zero democrats will vote to sustain, so no objections will get past the house, and most GOP senators won't vote to sustain either. The purpose of the objections is to delay Biden's affirmation of presidency. This will be settled January 6 (January 7 if the objections last into the night). There is no way around it.
