Which party will provide the next Chancellor of Germany?
Who's party will the successor of Angela Merkel (CDU) as the Chancellor of Germany belong to?

The 2021 German federal election for the 20th Bundestag is expected to be held on 26 September 2021.
The Chancellor will be elected by a majority vote of the newly elected Bundestag. If the Bundestag doesn't reach a chancellor-majority for a candidate then the president can appoint the candidate that received the plurality of votes.

Forming a coalition and agreeing on a joint Chancellor candidate can take quite some time. Usually, the complete process takes some weeks or even a few months.

After the German federal election in 2021, the party will win who's candidate will take an oath in front of the Bundestag, based on Art 64 GG, for becoming the next Chancellor of Germany.
