Although a complicated result, May is still technically the prime minister in the spirit of this proposition. She indeed WAS elected by getting most votes and seats in parliament. Whether she stays or resigns/etc can be wagered on separately for those that are interested.

Nobody was "elected to position of Prime Minister". It's uncertain what will happen given the staggering, unheard, completely unpredicted loss of Tory (May's party) majority. UK has a parliamentary system -- the general election did not *elect* a prime minister. Tories lost their majority and will need to form a coalition with a smaller party to keep hold of the government, and it's unclear how successful they will be. News many hours ago was that they had a deal with the DUP, but newer news has
