Description

Will Bitcoin Hit $100,000 in 2018? This proposition is leech protected: see decision logic for details!

Decision Logic

YES if the price is strictly above $100,000 at any point between now and Dec 1 2018, using the Bitstamp exchange as the point of reference. NO if the price never goes above $100,000 during the time period. In case of Bitcoin fork and chain split "Bitcoin" is the most valuable bitcoin chain. If Bitstamp price is unavailable, then Bitfinex price will be used.

LEECH PROTECTION:
In case of YES outcome in 2017: "YES" bets within 5 days of the "YES" outcome will be refunded.
In case of YES outcome in 2018 (Jan to Mar): "YES" bets within 25 days of the "YES" outcome will be refunded.
In case of YES outcome in 2018 (Apr to Nov): "YES" bets within 50 days of the "YES" outcome will be refunded.
In case of NO outcome: no refunds.

Based on current price. BTC would need to be up about 13x (1300%) to get to 100k. So by investing in BTC the downside limit is -100% and the upside is unlimited, could be 1300% or even more. However, betting 'yes' on this right now would only bring about 300% of your bet for a win. So a 'no' bet would be preferable but the returns look pretty dismal (about 4%) with the downside still at -100%. Even if my math is off by a few orders of magnitude bettors should probably take note.
