Description

The current U.S. Senate has 54 Republicans and 45 Democrats (including one independent). The 2016 Senate election takes place on November 8, 2016. There are 34 seats up in 2016, of which 24 are held by Republicans.

Decision Logic

Simple majority needed for control, any Independents elected in 2016 will not be counted. Current Independents, Senators Angus King of Maine and Bernie Sanders of Vermont caucus with the Democratic Party and therefore will be considered Democrats. A tie will be decided by the party affiliation of the Vice-President elected in the 2016 U.S. Presidential election. Outcome Date will be extended until resolution of any recounts that may impact outcome.

Oh, I put it in the title... I thought yef99 was trying to say something else, concerning the likelihood of outcome. I reported my mistake to the admin, to have the title changed.
