The conditions of this bet will be satisfied if the price of 1 Bitcoin passes $1000 US dollars by December 31st 2014.

Decision Logic

Verification will be based on the average of Bitpay rates
If the Bitpay rate passes $1000 dollars any time before December 31st 2014 the condition will be met

@freedom - with a deadline realllyyy far away though, the really early bettors will still benefit quite heavily as the time-multiplier is quite high.

I agree, on mine couldn't really change the cutoff date once it was created and was testing it out initially when the site first came out and followed the keep as close date to deadline on it don't think an outcome date can be changed though once made, but It makes sense for these type of bets to give a few months leeway considering the length.

@zjbird. I agree. Having too long to make a decision almost ruins the idea of a bet. Don't get me wrong, I would be very happy if it passes $1,000. I would be even happier if the volatility goes down a bit (which it has). I'm getting a bit aggravated at "experts" estimating in interviews $3,000 by the end of 2014/2015. It doesn't do anything but hurt the cause.

This is the kind of bet I like, because it actually closes months before the goal date. This is how more of these types of bets should be.

Wow kibblesnbitz - One Bitcoin bet? I call that putting one's bitcoin where one's mouth is! Pretty impressive because it could go either way 50/50. I need time to think about this one.
