Congress Special Election - S. Carolina - Dems v. GOP

The 5th Congressional District of South Carolina will hold a special election for the U.S. House of Representatives on June 20, 2017. The election will replace Mick Mulvaney, who was confirmed as director of the Office of Management and Budget.

Archie Parnell won the Democratic primary, while Ralph Norman has been nominated as the Republican candidate.

The district was democratic for many years until 2010, when Mulvaney won the seat. Can the Dems take it back?

Winning bets will be those placed on the candidate who receives the most votes in the election, and therefore wins election to the US House of Representatives. Whether or not the candidate is actually sworn in will have no bearing on this resolution; this prop is just for who wins the election itself.
