Description

Bitfinex got hacked and had a large quantity of bitcoins stolen. Do you think they will allow trading again before October 1, 2016 (at 00:00 UTC)?

Decision Logic

If you can trade on Bitfinex before the outcome date it resolves as true, and if not, it is false.

If for some reason Bitfinex reopens trading then closes it again before the outcome date, then this will still resolve as true if at least 1 BTC worth of trade volume has been recorded on Bitfinex (verifiable on bitcoinwisdom.com).

Oh well. It will resolve as true even if you can't withdraw your funds. I would have liked to include that as part of the bet, but I don't think there is a way to suitably satisfy the criteria for "being able to withdraw" since that varies from person to person and some bettor can simply say "I can't withdraw". So as long as you can go on the site and trade it doesn't matter if you can withdraw those assets or be forced to keep them on the site in IOU form.

Exchanges in trouble rarely disallow trading or deposits, except very briefly. They do tend to disallow WITHDRAWALS. Until you get your funds out, trading is purely imaginary—there is no way of verifying that any trading actually occurred. So if Bitfinex allows trading, but not withdrawals, there will be no way of resolving the bet.
