What will be the result of the 2020 United States presidential election?
Decision Logic
The candidate that wins 270+ Electoral College votes at the 2020 presidential election will be settled as winner. Any subsequent events will have no effect on the settlement of this market.

If no candidate wins 270+ Electoral College votes, we wait and the person chosen as President will be settled as winner.

If Trump or Biden are replaced as candidates for any reason before the election this proposition will be settled as a Republicans vs Democrats proposition.

@red-green it means more legal cases on Electoral College votes. No candidate has reached 270+ votes because of all the lawsuits going on. Jan 6 should be the longest this bet plays out.

Actually its probably best to wait til February 28th just to be sure since thats the last day scotus can vote to change their lunch schedules from 30 minutes 45.

It's very possible that depending on how this plays out over the next few days/weeks even 6 Jan may be still too early to call it. It may very well come down to the wire of 20 Jan. All other dates set forth by the federal statues cannot supersede federal or state constitutional law with respect to this process. The discretion of the legislature and congress is broad in these matters in many states & federally

Now that the ticket says resolved there's no way of knowing if the bet is payed or not, we'll need formal assurance that betmoose won't trigger payment before January 6 2021

I agree, whats silly is the early settlement of this bet. We feel like the rug is being pulled from under us. The host agreed to wait until at least the 14th and possibly until January, there are new prop bets on this site that have 30 more days of betting and ours gets closed before scouts even sees the case lol this is silly

What's silly is early settlement on a open bet, the same thing happened in 2016 when bookies started paying out clinton bets before the election, I've seen this before

No one has gotten paid yet guys. There is a fixed odds bet that was resolved by the host and it looks exactly the same as this. It got reported and it won't be settled until the BetMoose admins do so. Yes, a moderator made a wrong decision but the bet is in a "limbo" state, and will remain there until they adjudicate. Hopefully that adds some clarity to the situation.

The votes aren't cast for another week, and the mods poison the bet after we have been waiting for a month!?? What is the point in doing that?
When I placed my wager, I bet only what I was willing to loose; but to have lost it before the matter is actually decided is dumb.
Please give everybody back their bet, or wait until the 14th when the Electoral Votes are cast to hand out payments according to the vote totals - which is what everybody expected you to do to begin with!

Some moderator obviously made a mistake and payment has been halted as a result of people's reporting, so they don't have the final say. BetMoose admins do. The system, at least, is working as intended and they won't let this be settled prematurely.

@Andyzzle you have a really good point. I bet on Biden and I want my money as soon as I can get it, but it really isn't fair for the moderators to resolve it sooner than the host had planned. I am very confident the election results will be as projected (Biden 306 - 232 Trump), but I can see why Trump bettors would be extremely upset and feel it is unfair.

@zargothrax that's exactly what i find weird about this. Why do mods call the bet early when the host doesn't. I'd understand it if the roles were reversed but I'm expecting fair and neutral behavior from the ones in charge of solving potential disputes. This was neither fair nor neutral.

@red-green I am minding my business. I bet on this site as well and if mods start randomly calling bets ahead of time that affects me too. It affects everybody who puts their money down thinking they'd get a fair bet.

You're arguing a completely different point to what I'm asking. Mail in ballots are fine as long as state and federal laws were enforced. Counting ballots in the middle of the night is not a "free and fair" election process when there wasn't observers from both parties.
